PCA Job Duties
PCA (Personal Care Assistant) assist patients with daily activities such as:
- Bathroom
- Preparing or eating meals
- Executing hygiene and grooming habits
- Taking medication
- Bathing
- Completing housework or other chores
CNA Job Duties
CNA (certified nursing assistants) assist patients with daily activities such as:
- Bathe and dress patients
- Serve meals and help patients eat
- Take vital signs
- Turn or reposition patients who are bedridden
- Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, and doctors
- Provide and empty bedpans
- Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tables, etc.
- Answer patient calls
- Examine patients for bruises, blood in urine or other injuries/wounds
- Clean and sanitize patient areas
- Change bed sheets and restock rooms with necessary supplies
LPN Job Duties
LPN (licensed practical nurse) may:
- Maintaining patient records
- Measuring vital signs
- Administering and monitoring medication
- Assisting doctors and nurses with tests and procedures
- Helping patients eat, dress, and bathe
- Updating doctors and nurses on patient status
RN Job Duties
RN (registered nurse) may:
- Administer prescribed medication
- Operate medical equipment and monitor patient status
- Record patient information in medical records
- Assist physician with examinations
- Administrator treatments
